In this week's episode, I share a behind the scenes look and the lessons I garnered after a decade-long career in collegiate athletics and how it relates to running my own business.
As a former Associate Athletic Director for the University of New Hampshire marketing department, I did everything from design mascot characters to build culture-shifting programs to engage the student body and alumni-alike.
I worked at hundreds of athletic events, sang the national anthem at center ice and even got to wear those mascot costumes on rare occasion.
It was a thrilling first "real world" job and one that absolutely prepared me for the jungle of entrepreneurship (especially as a work from home mama!). I shared a great story about an on-field run-in with one of my favorite coaches (and most intimidating people on the planet) and the lessons I learned as a result of having to roll my sleeves up and hit the bleachers for post-game clean up crew.
