Hello friends, welcome back! This is a quickie! I’m on the road and I’ve been inspired with a new idea, from my friends on The Beautiful Writer’s podcast. Their recent episodes with Anne Lamott and Glennon Doyle Melton have touched my soul and called me to share these words with you.
The author of Hallelujah Anyway, Anne Lamott, shared her story of stepping into sobriety and working with her sponsor. She described how she transformed from a hotshot to a servant with her teacher’s guidance. This information about our work + why we’re here is so valuable and I just had to share with you today.
What our life’s work is about
How transforming from hotshot to servant is an evolution led by grace
How our importance needs to come from a place of deep knowing
What happens when we our soul gets in alignment with serving others
How the temporary solutions we use to soothe our souls don’t aide with deep healing
Why connecting with others and doing this together is a part of why we’re here
“What if we lived our lives presupposing that we did matter?”
“I’m never going to get the love that I so deeply desire from others in the way that I can give it to myself.”
“If we don’t serve ourselves, we cannot serve others.”
